Which sales can I take advantage of?

Zenfolio supports many of our vendor’s promotions, but not all of them. Please check our blog regularly as we post which sales will be supported. For specific information about a given sale, please see the dedicated blog post for that sale. Sales are generally open to all customers who have accounts corresponding to their currency and geography (ie. US accounts in the US, UK in the UK, etc...).

How can I take advantage of the sale prices?

To take advantage of the sale, simply place the order by clicking on “Buy” from the edit view while logged in to your account. The sale price only applies to base-lab prices, and is automatically calculated when a product is added to your cart. Once entered into your cart, you will see the discounted prices only, not the regular prices.

My client is placing an order, but did not get the discount.

Anytime Zenfolio or our vendors run a sale through Zenfolio, the discount goes to the photographer, as the base lab cost is what is discounted (not the visitor price).  This means more profit to you, but the customer price will not be affected unless you choose to pass the savings on.  The base lab discount to you is reflected automatically with no coupon code required.

How do I place an order in my account?

To place an order using base lab prices, select the photo you'd like to purchase in Edit View, then click the "Buy" button at the top of the image window (next to the Photo Actions menu) and proceed through checkout regularly from there. The sale price will automatically be displayed on sale items with no coupon code required.

I placed an order, but did not get the sale prices, why?

Each sale is different and may include a limited number of products from specific vendors.  If you are ordering from another vendor, or a size of product not offered, the sale price will not be reflected in your shopping cart. When you view the sale products in your price list as well as on the partner product pages, you will see the discounted sale price next to the original price which will show with a strike-through while the sale is going on so you can see the price differences side by side.

Does the sale require a coupon code?

All sale prices are automatically calculated with no coupon code required. In the shopping cart, you will see the discounted prices only, not the regular prices for all eligible products.

I do not see the discount in my order, did I get the discount?

The sale price only applies to base-lab prices, and is automatically deducted when added to your cart. To compare the regular prices with the sale prices, see the product page for the specific vendor at this link. For information specific to a given sale, please see the dedicated blog post for that sale.

When you view the sale products in your price list as well as on the partner product pages, you will see the discounted sale price next to the original price which will show with a strike-through while the sale is going on so you can see the price differences side by side.

Is the sale for me, or for my customers?

All sales through Zenfolio are intended for you, the photographer, and applied to base lab prices. This means sales prices are not visible to your customers, as they do not affect your visitor pricing.

When you view the sale products in your price list as well as on the partner product pages, you will see the discounted sale price next to the original price which will show with a strike-through while the sale is going on so you can see the price differences side by side.

How do I extend the discount to my customers?

The best way to discount sale items so that your customers can benefit as well is to duplicate your price list (or adjust the original) and reduce the cost of the specific items for the duration of the sale. Once the sale is over, you can reassign the original price list. For more information on creating price lists, see this link.

Alternatively, you can create a coupon. We highly recommend reviewing the example below to be sure you understand the implications of setting up a coupon.

Example Scenario:

- Your regular price for an 8x10 print is $20.
- The standard base lab cost is $2.09.
- This means your profit would be $15.76.
- If a sale were, for example 50% off 8x10 prints and you decided to offer your customers 50% off, your selling price would be $10.
- Your sale base lab cost would be $1.04.
- Your profit would be $7.88.

*Please note that currently coupons cannot be applied to specific products (for example 8x10 prints), only to groups of products, (for example, All Prints and Products).

When did the sale start/end?

The sale starts and ends at the times specified on the dedicated blog post specific to that sale. Please note: all sale periods are listed in Pacific Time Zone (PST) and begin and end precisely as noted on the blog.

I just missed the sale. Can I still get a discount on my order?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to apply sale prices to orders after the sale period has ended, as regular print pricing will resume after that point.

These sales are great but, why don't you run the promotion all the time?

Zenfolio may have its own exclusive promotions in which we coordinate with our partner labs to determine what products and services will be on sale, but in most cases it is our partner labs themselves that determine when a sale/promotion will occur and what products or services will be on discounted.
So because most of the sales that occur through Zenfolio are determined by our partners labs we cannot run them indefinitely.
